EMMA RANDOLPH WIBC CHAMPION

Emma RandolphEmma Randolph had only been bowling at Rollaway Lanes for three years when she became the first Memphis woman to win a WIBC title.

Her first WIBC National Tournament was the year before, 1963, when she bowled at Imperial Lanes in the first and only WIBC National Championship Tournament to be held in memphis.

She didn't do too well but her fellow bowlers had the feeling she could be something special.

When the next year, 1964, rolled around and the WIBC National Tournament went to Minneapolis, she suddenly got locked in.

Rolling series of 584 in Team event and 567 in Doubles and 621 in Singles, giving her an All Events total of 2522 earning her the All Events "B" Division Championship.

Prior to that tournament, no Memphis woman had ever had a series as high as 621 at the National Tournament.

The above ad for Rollaway Lanes was for the 1963 WIBC National Championship Tournament in Memphis at Imperial Lanes.
